The founder who cannot be filmed

SquidGrow's founder Shibtoshi is pseudonymous. No face, no film days, no conventional founder content, ever. The team behind Monolith, working at Web3 agency Lunar Digital Assets, turned that constraint into a repeatable short-form presence: an AI-recreated character, a fifty-clip interview library, and data-driven launch support.

The brief

SquidGrow is one of the largest community-driven token brands in the meme economy, and its own history set the stakes: stealth-launched in 2022 at a $25K market cap, roughly $52M within months, 88 holders grown to 23,000. That growth is the client's story, not this engagement's. The engagement's problem was newer: a brand fronted by a founder who gives interviews behind a mask and a voice, and a content calendar that needed him daily.

Mining the interviews

Shibtoshi does long-form interviews: CoinDesk, Wolf Crypto, Bitcoin.com, a fireside at NFT NYC, a DePIN X broadcast. Each one is an hour of founder presence most brands never use twice. The team cut five of them into a library of roughly fifty timestamped short-form clips, each edit note tied to the moment worth quoting, giving the brand months of founder content from work he had already done.

Building the character

The daily-post problem needed more than clips. Working from client-supplied reference art, the team recreated Shibtoshi and the Squiddy mascot in AI image generation, then animated them: twenty-three finished video memes in one April, built for GM and GN daily formats and event tie-ins. The client stayed in the loop shot by shot, right down to the soundtrack: cuts scored with tracks from Sesh, an Australian rapper whose earlier albums include SquidGrow-themed songs, used with permission.

Launching SilentSwap

When the ecosystem's privacy platform SilentSwap launched in December 2024, the content system got a data layer: wallet-level audience research to vet influencer candidates, thirteen-plus vetted profiles across the privacy and DeFi niches, so launch spend followed evidence instead of follower counts.

The pipeline
  • Five long-form interviews cut into a ~50-clip library
  • Shibtoshi and Squiddy recreated in AI image generation
  • 23 finished character video memes in a single month
  • Client feedback loop on every batch
  • Data-driven KOL vetting for the SilentSwap launch

Same discipline as the 70M+ view LitVM system: recognizable characters, industrial cadence, human taste on every cut.

What this means for your brand

Plenty of brands have a spokesperson who cannot or will not be on camera: a private founder, a distributed team, a mascot that only exists on paper. A character system plus an AI production pipeline gives that brand a face and a daily cadence anyway. The constraint is not the blocker; the missing system is.
